Mike

Languages:

English

The tours I do:

The Grand Tour

My favourite anecdote:

A family of 4 that were following my Grand Tour had signed up for the Food Tour and, an hour into the tour, they asked: "your tour is fascinating but where's the food?" Since the Food Tour leaves an hour later, they have been able to join it.

Travel experiences:

France (Normandie; Côte d'Azur); Italie; USA

Before being a guide:

Sales rep for Imperial Oils; Primary and High school teacher.

Why did I become a guide:

Imperial Oil closed our provincial office, I have always been passionate for history and public relations.

In my tours, I like to insist on:

Social history, especially immigration of the French followed by the English and the Irish

A book I recommend:

The American colonies by Allen Taylor.

Customers' comments

«We just returned from an extensive visit to Quebec area which included a Guided Tour of Quebec City (…). .We wanted you to know that of all the Tour Guides we had Mike was the most knowledgeable, pleasant and helpful and that he made our trip very enjoyable. You should be very happy to have a representative like Mike.»

«Yesterday, we were fortunate enough to take your walking tour of old Quebec as the first activity in our three day stay. Mike O'Farrell was our guide, and he was superb! Not only did he give us a great sense of the history of the city, he also pointed out other activities, places to eat, and things to see. It set the scene for our visit, and was great fun.»
